MIL-PRF-16173 Grade 2 is a solvent cutback, corrosion preventive compound. The semi-firm film is amber and translucent. The products cured film is compatible with a variety of oils and greases.
MIL-PRF-16173 Grade 2 is supplied ready to use to simplify handling and application of the product.

INTENDED USE:
* For extended indoor protection of interior or exterior surfaces of machinery, instruments, bearings or materials with or without use of supplementary barrier materials.
* For outdoor protection of material for limited periods where metal temperatures do not reach levels that produce prohibitive flow the corrosion preventive film.

APPLICATION: 
MIL-PRF-16173 Grade 2 can be applied by dipping the parts to be protected in a vat or spraying the parts to be protected with air sprayers, pump type sprayers or by pouring the product over the parts. Ensure uniform consistency prior to use. Recommended surface preparation: surface should be clean, dry, and free of rust, oil and mill scale.

REMOVAL:
Removal of protective films is accomplished by using a steam cleaner or washing the parts in mineral spirits, solvent thinner, vapor degreaser, or hot alkaline wash.
